The Transition to Teaching Program is a fast track program funded through a federal grant that leads to a career as a special education Intervention Specialist (IS). The program began in 2000 and the University of Dayton has grown this online program to include not only the initial 20 hours for the initial Alternative License, but also the additional hours required for a standard Ohio license. More recently, U.D. has developed online versions of the four courses required for the Master's Degree in Education. Thus, this program offers you not only the necessary education and training to become a licensed IS, but also the opportunity to continue working with your cohort to complete a Master's Degree.
